Another new army!

So maybe blogging isnt for me, unless your audience is a fan of very infrequent updates. Since my last post i changed my mind over which army i wanted to take to 40k doubles and took Tau after being unable to resist the awesome Riptide kit!

This is the army I took-

We did pretty well, winning most of our games and finished in a pretty respectable postition for our first 40k doubles.

So, with this in mind, myself and my good friend Evans will be going to the next event in December. In homage to our first ever doubles outing together where we took White Scars and Black Templars (and won both first place and the best army awards), we have decided to take evrybodies favourite Space Mongolians, descendents of the V Legion Astartes, the White Scars!

The new Space Marine codex gives these guys some pretty tasty rules as well, so we are going for a list which is heavy on bikes with a bit of armoured support.

 In a couple of weeks i'll try and put up a work in progress shot of the whole army! 31 Bikers, 2 Predator tanks and 2 Stormtalon gunships.

First post in over a year!

Ok, its been a while, but since im doing a group Horus Heresy blog here, i thought i might post some of my personal stuff on my old, slightly under-used blog...

Myself and Alex are going to the 40k Battle Brothers event in April. He will be taking his Salamanders, and i will be using the new Dark Angels codex to finally do the Guardians of the Covenant army i've quite fancied since the last codex came out.

So, the first list i've written is:

• Level 2 Librarian with conversion field
• 10 Man tactical squad with power fist, flamer and missile launcher with flakk missiles. This squad also has a Razorback transport with twin-linked assault cannons. 
• 5 Man tactical squad with missile launcher with flakk missiles
• 5 Deathwing Terminators with thunder hammers and storm shields. One also has a cyclone missile launcher.

I've built and undercoated this army, but since had another idea, which i might well build up too. The other list is:

• Level 2 Librarian with conversion field
• Command Squad with Standard of Devastation
• 10 Man tactical squad with power fist, flamer and missile launcher with flakk missiles. This squad also has a Razorback transport with twin-linked assault cannons. 
• 10 Man tactical squad with power fist, flamer and missile launcher with flakk missiles.

So, for now, heres some pictures of stuff i have been doing. I tried to base the Librarian roughly on this pic. as i love the whole 'penitent knight' theme from it:

So, here's what i have pictures of so far. I've also built all my tactical marines using the robed bodies. 

I intend to update this a lot more often now i have some proper projects and easier way to get photos. Time will tell!
